PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
I would like to welcome you all to the VWGA’s first Newsletter for 2021.

Covid 19 hit the 2020 VWGA program with a whack. In 2020 we were only able to hold one country tournament at Taree and just two metropolitan tournaments at Mona Vale and The Coast.

During April to June the only work going on in the VWGA office was cancellations and refunds. In June 2020 we moved offices. Our old office block was going to be renovated and we were asked to vacate. With the help of the VWGA committee it was not a painful move. The office is in a newish block and is light and airy. It’s just one big room but big enough for us. We are still able to hold our committee meetings in person, (during Covid we held them on Zoom) which was just another learning curve.

There are ten of us on the VWGA committee now who have lots of different skills on offer. We hope that any time you need a question answered we will be able to help. The office is not always manned, or womaned. We are normally open Monday – Thursday between 10.00am – 3.00pm. We break for lunch around 1.00pm. If there is no one home, please leave a message.

Trish Huthwaite (Woolooware) has joined the committee in 2021 and will be assisting Virginnia with membership. Lilian Ong has returned from a Covid break. Jenny has taken over the role of Tournament Manager and Nancye has returned to the Treasury. Jan McDade (St Michaels) has resigned and I wish to thank her for her contribution to the VWGA over the past 3 years.

As I write this, I am thinking of all our VWGA members caught up in all this very unpleasant weather. I hope that you have come through this period unscathed.

Jacky Parsons
