March 2022 Newsletter

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
As you may be aware we were unable to hold our 2021 AGM last year because of Covid restrictions. It was rescheduled to Wednesday, 23 February 2022. This date was the first one available with the Audited Financial accounts ready for distribution.

To attract more participants to the meeting we used Zoom for the first time. We hoped that this way we would be giving the country delegates an opportunity to attend. It also meant that Metropolitan delegates who didn’t wish to travel into the CBD by public transport could also be at the meeting. My thanks go to Barbara Evennett for all her help. Barbara is a volunteer worker for the VWGA, and we go to her for all our IT issues.

We did get our quorum and more, so that was very satisfying. We believe it is the way of the future and our next AGM, which will be held in November 2022, will also be available on Zoom. There wasn’t anything controversial this year and the meeting ran well. The minutes and reports will be on the web site soon. Welcome to Lucy Minehan (Newcastle) who has joined the committee in 2022.

Thank you for all those who physically attended and then joined us for a drink after.
